The Philadelphia Obituary Project is determined to give our city’s victims of homicide the honor they deserve.
We refuse to allow the lives of homicide victims to be remembered merely as statistics; the mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters lost in Philadelphia’s violence have stories that deserve respect and attention. Our organization is committed to giving these stories a platform.
With your support, we can continue our fight to illuminate the lives of these victims, and in the process, advocate for a safer community in our beloved city. The obituaries are posted on this site at no cost to the victim’s family. Your donation will help us publish more obituaries and stories. A donation of $50 will cover the cost of one obituary.
Philadelphia Obituary Project is an IRS 501 (c) (3) Public Non Profit Charity, effective 5/31/2017. Donors can deduct contributions they make under IRS Section 170. We are also qualified to receive deduction bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under our tax exempt status. You should consult an qualified accountant on specific tax deduction eligibility.
Philadelphia Obituary Project is registered as a Charitable Organization with the Pennsylvania Department of State, Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations under The Solicitation of Funds for Charitable Purposes Act, 10 P.S. § 162.1 et seq., and is authorized to solicit charitable contributions under the conditions and limitations set forth under the Act.
