Maria Terry remembers Juanyea Kennedy well, even though they only went to school together until fourth grade.
“He was really a nice person. He had a nice personality and a really bright smile that would just light up the room,” Terry, 22, recalled.
Though Juanyea went to a different school after the two attended elementary school together in Germantown, Terry said they kept in touch over the years.
She had recently talked with Juanyea, 21, just before he was shot dead on B Street near Loudon, in Feltonville, on May 21.
“I was on Facebook, and I saw an RIP, and I was really confused,” Terry said. “I was just in shock. I had just talked to him.”
