On August 10, 2022, less than a month after his 21st birthday, and only a day after his daughter Azaria turned 1 year old, Kevon Norris was tragically killed on the 300 block of E. Somerset Street in in the Kensington area of Phila. No one in Kevon’s family knows why he was in that neighborhood, a place where they had no family connections. The case remains unsolved, and his loved ones are desperate for answers.

Kevon Norris was born on July 19, 2001, and raised mostly in West Philly, later moving to Cheltenham Township to reside with his father and stepmother. After losing his father only two years prior to his untimely death, and the passing of his beloved great Grandmother just days earlier.
Kevon stepped into adulthood with maturity beyond his years. He became a father and went on to earn his high school diploma from Southern Philadelphia High School. In his short life, he left behind memories that shine of laughter, generosity, protectiveness and quiet acts of love.
In his short life, he left behind memories that shine of laughter, generosity, protectiveness and quiet acts of love:
On the day of his little sister Destiny’s prom send off, his little cousin Ashlyn stood shy and quietly aside from everyone else. That’s when her cousin Kevon, tall, lanky and full of life, stepped up to her, laughing and throwing playful jabs in the air just to get her to smile.
Another time, when he accidently broke his little cousin’s phone, he didn’t make excuses. He walked right up to her mom and admitted to breaking the phone. He then swapped the sim cards and traded his new phone for hers. “He was just that honest. He did what was right, even when he didn’t have to.” He was always like that, cheering people up and making us laugh.

Though he looked like a kid himself, he had stepped up to love and care for his daughter, little Azaria. That was his baby, and he was a proud dad.
He soon took a job as a mail sorter. Unfortunately, his career path was derailed too soon.
Kevon was known for being honest, helpful and incredibly stylish, always dressed to the nines with a sharp haircut. Kevon was also the kind of cousin and brother who made you feel safe. He was always looking out for his little sister, younger cousins, nieces and nephews. Once actually carrying his cousin on his back, so that she could go along with the bigger cousins. But nothing surpasses the love he had for his newborn baby daughter Azaria, who unfortunately will never get to know her dad, or feel his strong, loving arms.
He grew up as the third of four children, and he was especially close with his little sister Destiny, who was practically glued to his side. They were known in the family as “the twins,” always together, dancing and smiling. He was her protector.”
Kevon also had a strong bond with his two older brothers, Antonio and Markeith. Family meant everything to him.

Kevon’s death came as an unimaginable blow to his family, especially his mother, Nicole Clark, who was already grieving the death of her grandmother just days earlier. It was an unimaginable heartbreak for her.
His mother, Nicole said “Kevon was always a good kid and never got in trouble a day in life. He loved to dance, rap, play video games and football. He loved being with is family the most. My child was a Muslim young man and didn’t deserve this, she said. I’m begging to please get just justice for my son.”
Kevon’s daughter Azaria may not fully understand yet, but she continues to feel her father’s presence. She often goes off to herself, laughing and playing by herself, saying, “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy.”
“Her grandmother says she’s playing with her dad. She remembers him. You look at the pictures and think, “can you believe he was a father?” He was. And he was a good one.

If anyone knows anything at all, we just want to know what happened, and bring his killer, or killers to justice. Somebody had to be there with him. Somebody knows.
Until then, his family clings to the memories, the quiet strength, the protective nature, the wide grin and loud laugh. Kevon Norris lived a short life, but he made it full with love, laughter, and kindness.
Kevon’s family is still reeling from this unforeseen tragedy. His life was tragically taken away in one brief moment. His Mother, Nicole Clark, family and friends are still waiting for justice. No arrests have been made. Nor has anyone come forward with information about his case. We are praying that this doesn’t become another unsolved cold case. We ask that anyone with any information about this case please come forward, and help to bring his killer, or killers to justice.
