Tarik Chapman was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Whether it be carrying groceries into a house for elderly neighbors, taking out their trash, or helping somebody who was moving, Tarik never hesitated to offer his assistance.
Tarik was killed in West Philadelphia on Jan. 19, 2017. He was 38.
“He was really a great guy. He just helped,” said his neighbor, Debbie, who knew Tarik his whole life. “I’ve been knowing him long time. If I asked him to do anything, he would do anything.”
He made a point to help others out in the community, Debbie said. That included minding the children in the neighborhood, helping to stop fights that broke out and otherwise steering them down the right path, she said.
“He was very loyal to his children, to all the children,” she said.
